All ServicesWhy Garage Floors Peel, and Why Ours Don’t
Most coatings fail for one of three reasons, and all three are decided before the first coat goes down. Here’s what we do about each one, and who does the work.
1. The concrete is ground, not acid-etched.
Peeling starts with a coating put over smooth, sealed or dusty concrete. We diamond-grind every floor so the base coat bonds to open concrete, then fill the cracks and pits.
2. Moisture is checked before anything goes down.
Water vapor coming up through the slab lifts a coating from below. We check the concrete for moisture at the assessment, and the Apex package adds a moisture vapor barrier under the base coat.
3. A polyurea base and a polyaspartic top.
A pigmented polyurea base coat grips the concrete. A clear, UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat holds its color and gloss and resists hot-tire pickup. It isn’t a one-day kit from a hardware store.
4. Our own crews, start to finish.

What to Expect, Start to Finish

We install the floor.
Our crew grinds the concrete, repairs cracks and pitting, and puts the floor down. With Elite and Apex, we move your belongings out for you. Most flake floors take one to two days, depending on the package and the size of the floor.

You get your floor back.
You can walk on it after 24 hours and park on it after 5 days. We’ll tell you when it’s ready for your belongings, and we leave you a care guide for the floor.

Every flake package carries a limited warranty. Core: 5-year. Elite: 15-year. Apex carries a lifetime warranty. Lifetime means for as long as you own your home. The Elite and Apex warranties can be transferred to the next owner.

How much does a garage floor coating cost?
It depends on five things: the size of the floor, the system and package you choose, the condition of the concrete, moisture in the slab, and any extras. We don’t guess at it. We come out, look at the floor and measure it, and your written quote shows each package.
What Affects the Cost?
How long does the install take?
Most flake floors take one to two days, depending on the package and the size of the floor. After that the floor needs time to cure: you can walk on it after 24 hours and park on it after 5 days.
What’s the difference between Core, Elite and Apex?
They’re our three flake floor packages. Core is our 3-layer flake floor, with a 5-year warranty. Elite is the 3-layer floor with more included: we move your belongings out before the install, and the warranty is 15-year. Apex is our 4-layer floor, with a moisture vapor barrier, and it carries a lifetime warranty. The Elite and Apex warranties can be transferred to the next owner.

Do I have to empty the garage first?
With Elite and Apex, no. We move your belongings out before the install. You move them back in once the floor is ready. With Core, moving isn’t included, so the space needs to be clear before we arrive.
